Jim called us in to complete two projects on his home. The first was to extend his chalet bungalow in to the loft creating 2 bedrooms and en-suite bathroom plus a walk in wardrobe come dressing room. The second was for us to completely refurbish the ground floor of his property giving it a bright and modern look and feel to match the extension being created. The project took 9 weeks to complete and the finished result is fantastic.

After completing a rear extension to the property for Mr & Mrs Jenkinson we were asked to return and extend in to the roof of the property. The addition of a rear dormer provided ample space to include the addition of a master bedroom, accompanied by an en-suite shower room. The conversion took approximately 6 weeks and the result is a beautiful loft conversion with lots of light and space added to this already sizeable family home.

Custom Loft Conversions s no stranger to dealing with mid-terrace period properties requiring L-shaped loft conversions with the addition of a rear dormer. However May road was a little bit more challenging than the usual house we deal with. The property itself, being well over 100 years old had it’s own logistical challenges, the dimensions of the property were not square, and therefore creating a space that looked and felt square and true meant an awful lot of work adapting processes to accommodate the added dimensions this property had.
Looking back at the job it wasn’t an easy one, from the design and measurement stage, through to the final boarding out, each angle had to be checked and triple checked to ensure we created a room that looked and felt right when you stepped in to it.
Overall we are pleased with the result and with the addition of the dormer, we were able to create a master bedroom with en-suite shower room, large Velux window to the front creating a bright and airy space, plus Juliette balcony to the rear, with an additional good sized study/bedroom.
Custom Loft Conversions has extensive experience in building hip-to-gable loft conversions, and when coupled with a rear dormer, you are able to achieve a truly fantastic, and very large space. This end-of-terrace 1930’s property had ample floor space, and a very well lit first floor landing, perfect for creating an open plan and bright space leading up to a large master bedroom with en-suite shower room.
The master bedroom has two Velux windows to front, Juliette balcony to rear, with access to the en-suite shower room with walk in, double width, wet room style shower. Utilising the eave space at the front for storage, the client was able to fit a large double bed, with a large double wardrobe beside it, with ample dressing space, flooded by natural light from the balcony and double glazed doors.
One unique feature to mention is the use of light in the hallway as shown in the photos. Being a end-of-terrace we were able to add an additional window at the top of the stairs, as well as use the space on the first floor, to ensure we were able to avoid a dark first floor landing, which can sometimes be unavoidable when adding a loft conversion.
Overall we have added significant living space to this large home, beautifully decorated home, and we are proud of the finished result.
This Custom Loft Conversion is a great example of how we think outside of the box to deliver something unique, and personal to the client, in order to maximise the space available. This mid-terrace victorian terrace is typical of many London properties. The initial footprint doesn’t appear to provide a great deal of space, but with some ingenious design we have produced a beautiful double bedroom in to the eaves, with Juliette balcony, accompanied by an en-suite shower room.
What really sets this loft conversion aside is the added space available by the open plan design. By moving the door on to the lower landing we have managed to make use of the custom glass balustrade and open landing, drawing in significant light and space in to the room.
In addition to the open plan master bedroom we created an open plan shower room with fully tiled cubicle shower, pedestal sink and toilet, and for that little bit of added privacy the client added a lovely curtain as a room separator.
Overall the Juliette balcony, open plan master bedroom and shower room have added significant space to this mid-terrace victorian terrace and we are delighted with the result.

Custom Loft conversions has delivered a number of Hip-To-Gable with Rear Dormer loft conversions over the years, and this one for us stands out. Built back in 2010 we went back to see just how well our work has stood up, and we were delighted to se how fantastic it still looked.
With an open plan landing with side window bringing in light to the hallway, you lead up to an impressive master bedroom, with Velux windows to front, and a gorgeous Juliet balcony to rear, over looking the forest behind. The addition of the walnut built in wardrobes in to the eaves and to the adjoining wall of the en-suite add significant storage space and character. The en-suite is is fully tiled with a modern suite, that still looks fantastic almost 6 years on.
All in all we are really proud of this loft, and for anyone considering a quality loft conversion this loft stands the test of time as far as we are concerned. You only have to read the testimonial to see our client is as happy with the loft as we are.
This beautiful detached property in Cheshunt, Middlesex, EN7 is a relatively new build property, where the couple wanted to expand in to the loft space to a significant dressing area for their daughters. With the available width, clear head space and depth of the property it was easy to convert this loft in to an impressive space without the need to add a rear dormer. The addition of 5 very large roof windows, and the use of the available void in the eaves makes this a practical, light and spacious conversion. In addition we custom built a beautiful set of wardrobes in to the far wall of the loft, providing ample storage for their daughters clothing.
We are absolutely delighted with this loft, the decorative finish of white walls, vaulted ceiling and real wood floor really give that feeling of luxury and space.
We delivered this beautiful Hip-To-Gable with Rear Dormer Loft Conversion in Southgate N14, in North London. The conversion took this beautiful 3 bedroom semi-detached 1930’s property to a 4 bedroom, with 2 bathroom family home. Building out of the gable end, plus the addition of a rear dormer added substantial living space, allowing us to place, an enclosed landing on the second floor, with doors to modern shower room and a master bedroom.
The shower rooms included a corner shower unit, floating and built in sink with toilet. The room was fully tiled, with double glazed, frosted glass window to the rear of the property.
The master bedroom has Velux windows to the front, creating a bright and spacious feeling, with a rear dormer space allowing for full head height across a large portion of the bedroom, with double glazed windows to the rear.

Stephen and Anne initially contacted us to complete a their single storey extension housing their new kitchen. We completed the work in 8 weeks, including fitting a brand new kitchen with central island, rear concertina doors leading on to a new patio area.
